An NSF (non-sufficient funds) cheque is a cheque that didn’t go through because the bank account didn’t have enough money or didn’t contain sufficient funds. An NSF cheque can also occur when the account is closed. The account holder may get charged a fee for an NSF cheque.
The account holder is the one who gets charged for an NSF cheque.
An NSF cheque can be redeposited but the account holder has to make sure there is sufficient funds in the account before depositing the cheque.
